In its inaugural year TRAILS finalists included artists from Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales. The works reflected a range of media, techniques and experience, providing viewers with a broad spectrum from which to cast their People's Choice vote.
The world can be a serious place, especially in the current climate. I like playful, I like corny. I like another silly love song. In my automaton sculpture a man sitting on a simple stool in his underpants offers the viewer his heart, exposing a flower growing in his chest. As his hand extends his head follows the movement but his gaze does not catch yours.
