This year TRAILS finalists included artists from across Australia. The works reflected a range of media, techniques and experience, providing viewers with a broad spectrum from which to cast their People's Choice vote.
A free form piece, working with the form and flow of the soap stone, carving through my imagination allowing it to develop with each cut of the appropriate tool. After many hours of work the sculpture fell out of the vice, breaking into many pieces. Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi (the art of repairing broken ceramic pieces with gold) the work exhibits its journey.
