This year TRAILS finalists included artists from across Australia. The works reflected a range of media, techniques and experience, providing viewers with a broad spectrum from which to cast their People's Choice vote.
My predominant intention for this hand-built ceramic sculpture was to explore the idea of women as vessels. Traditionally, I create ceramics with painted figures, but here, the women are sculpted from clay, holding vessels that are both symbolic and functional. They represent women as carriers, creators, and containers, merging my painted figures with sculptural form.
